On July 9th, 2019, members of the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department participated in a joint live burn drill with members of Fairview, Greenville and Ardsley Fire Departments at the County Training Center. The drill used the prop house that simulates a typical residential single family home which are common throughout our village. The prop uses smoke and propane-fueled flames that create a realistic fire situation. The drill focused on hose line operations, SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus), radio communications and search & rescue. This was an opportunity for firefighters from different departments to train together for when they may have to work together at a real fire incident.
