Early Sunday morning at 00:02 hrs the HHFD responded to a general alarm (all HHFD apparatus) along with Ardsley's Ladder for a report of a chimney fire on Farragut Ave. Upon arrival flames were visible shooting upwards from the chimney. Due to the potential for fire to spread to the residential structure a request for mutual aid (10-75) response from the the surrounding communities was transmitted. Units from the surrounding villages responded to the scene and others back filled the fire houses to provide fire protection in case another call came in. The fire was contained to the chimney and extinguished quickly with out serious damage to the structure and no injuries. The Hastings-on-Hudson FD would like to thank the surrounding volunteer fire departments for their quick response and assistance. We further thank the Hastings Police Department and the Greenburgh PD Paramedic for their continued cooperation and assistance at fire scenes.
