Thursday night March 25th 2021 the Hastings Fire Department and Police responded to a call for a tree falling on a house. The residence was occupied at the time but fortunately no one in the house was injured. There was heavy damage to the roof, house and deck but the residence seems to be structurally sound. It appears that another tree from an neighboring property fell striking the tree that ultimately struck the house causing it to fall. We suggest property owners have large trees checked to see if the trees and their root system are healthy to prevent such incidents.
