145th Annual Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department Inspection

On Saturday September 25th, 2021 the ALL Volunteer Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department held its 145th annual inspection and dinner. The weather was perfect. The inspection that took place behind the Municipal building in attendance were Fire Chiefs from the surrounding Rivertown's, village, county and state elected officials. Chief of Department Ron Paquette lead the dignitaries on a guided tour of the apparatus the members and apparatus. Following the inspection the members and guests headed to MacEachron waterfront park where the inspection dinner and awards ceremony was held under a large tent. Top Responder Award: Captain Brendan Woods Engine 45 & Rescue 100 and Lieutenant Amy Tilipko Ambulance Corps

Firefighter of the year: Captain/EMT Cathy Gunther, Lieutenant/EMT Amy Tilipko, Cyndy Travis EMT Sabine Reichert, EMT Ernest Ostro & Assistant Chief John Lindner.

Life Saving Award: Lieutenant L-22/EMT Brian Usher, EMT Ellen Golds, Ex Captain Alan Golds, Captain/EMT Cathy Gunther, Ex Captain David George, Ex Captain Nick Frascone, Ex Captain Andrew Sherman and Assistant Chief Mike Gunther.

Unit Citations: HFD Ambulance Corps for their dedication and heroism in their response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Rescue 100 for extricating a child locked in a safe.

The department thanks Secretary Jean Schnibbe for all of her efforts in setting up the event and the band "The Lords of Hawthorn" for the music. Further thanks go to Harvest on Hudson Restaurant.
