Shortly before midnight Dobb's Ferry FD received a call reporting smoke coming from a building at 100 Cedar Street. A structure fire assignment which included a ladder from Irvington NY Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched. Within 2 minutes of being dispatched Chiefs 2092 and 2093 arrived on scene to find smoke showing from a 2 story building. 2092 requested the 10-75(working fire) be transmitted, bringing in Ardsley Fire Department FAST Team, Hastings, engine 46 to the scene as well as Dobbs Ferry EMS. The first arriving units found fire in the walls extending between the first and second floor. Units worked quickly to open up the walls and knock the fire before spreading to adjoining units. Approximately an hour later the situation was placed under control.
Elmsford Fire Department and Tarrytown Fire Department provided fire coverage for the village. This is another example of the River Towns all volunteer fire departments working together.
