On April 5th the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department delivered a load of firefighting bunker gear, boots, helmets, gloves and other firefighting equipment to Clifton New Jersey. The Clifton N.J. Fire Department with the help of volunteers and a generous trucking and shipping company will pack up and ship the equipment to Poland. Polish firefighters will escort the equipment to the border and deliver it to Ukrainian firefighters who are in desperate need of equipment. Many of the other surrounding departments from large cities to the small Rivertown's have done the same showing support for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. The Clifton Firefighters who organized the equipment drive appear to be to point agency on the east coast for this cause. They are receiving calls and equipment from as far away as the Detroit fire department. In the words of a Clifton N.J. firefighter who immigrated from the Ukraine" Victory to Ukraine".
