Four members of the Hastings Fire Department back from the NYS Fire Training Center in Oriskany, NY after four full days of training to obtain their Swift Water Rescue certification. The course, facility and the instructors were all amazing. Thanks to staff they all are now State certified Swift Water Rescue Technicians. The department currently has a robust group of members who are certified as Ice/Cold Water Technicians. With increasing sever hurricanes and tropical storms causing flood conditions in our village our all volunteer department is training to protect our residents in case of future flash floods.
