At 9:44 PM on Wednesday, May 10th, the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department and HFD Ambulance Corps were dispatched to Saw Mill River Road north of the Westchester Hills Cemetery for a report of a multi-car accident with reported extrication.
Chief Schnibbe (Car 2181) arrived on scene a few minutes after the initial dispatch and confirmed that no extrication was needed. Engines 44, 45 and 46, as well as Rescue 100, responded to the accident, which involved three vehicles. Members on scene checked each vehicle to ensure there was no fire danger and helped to clean up the roadway of debris.
The ambulance provided care to three individuals who were in the vehicles and transported them to a local hospital.
Units operated for approximately one hour and 20 minutes before being released. Our thanks to the agencies which assisted our operation: Hastings-on-Hudson Police & Town of Greenburgh Police.
