| Today marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of Chief of Department and Battalion Chief Robert Schnibbe, who lost his life in the line of duty while operating a fire in Irvington. Chief Schnibbe was a highly respected and valued member of the firefighting community in Westchester County. On March 3, 2006, Battalion Chief Robert J. Schnibbe, Jr., age 57, of the Hastings-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department in New York, died of a heart attack while directing operations at a structure fire in the Village of Irvington. The community is encouraged to take a moment to remember Chief Schnibbe and his family on this significant anniversary. |
