Remembering Chief Robert Schnibbe Today March 3rd On The 20th Anniversary Of His Death In The Line Of Duty

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of Chief of Department and Battalion Chief Robert Schnibbe, who lost his life in the line of duty while operating a fire in Irvington. Chief Schnibbe was a highly respected and valued member of the firefighting community in Westchester County.

On March 3, 2006, Battalion Chief Robert J. Schnibbe, Jr., age 57, of the Hastings-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department in New York, died of a heart attack while directing operations at a structure fire in the Village of Irvington.

The community is encouraged to take a moment to remember Chief Schnibbe and his family on this significant anniversary.
