The Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department is proud to join with over 90 police, fire and EMS agencies throughout Westchester County and the country in support of Autism Awareness Month.

The New Rochelle Autism Patch Challenge was started by the New Rochelle Police Department and the New Rochelle PBA, (Westchester County, NY) on 09 February 2017. It was created by a New Rochelle Police Detective and PBA President who is the father of an Autistic child. The Challenge is being executed and promoted by the department’s Police and Community Together Unit (P.A.C.T.). The primary goal of the Autism Patch Challenge is to promote Autism Awareness in every community throughout the country by attaching a custom Autism Awareness Police Patch to at least one police car within each community’s police department during the month of April. On April 2, 2017 the world will celebrate World Autism Awareness Day and on that day it is our hope that the world will see that America’s Police Departments joined forces to demonstrate its continued support and love for all those living with Autism.
