The James Harmon Community Center hosted the biennial meeting of the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department on Tuesday, April 2. This meeting occurs every two years when the chief of department and assistant chiefs are sworn in to lead the department.

Sworn in that evening:

Chief of Department (Car 2181): John Lindner
1st Assistant Chief (Car 2182): Ronald Paquette
2nd Assistant Chief (Car 2183): Brian Schnibbe
3rd Assistant Chief (Car 2184): Michael Gunther

Best wishes to now-Deputy Chief Martin Gunther, who has stepped down after 8 years as chief! The department was also pleased to honor outgoing Mayor Peter Swiderski, who presided over the swearing-in of the chiefs. Mayor Swiderski was appointed an honorary chief of the department.

The department was honored to have seven former Chiefs of Department in attendance: Deputy Chiefs Jeffrey Bannon, James Drumm, Ron Gagliardi, William Gunther, Stephen Pecylak, Robert Russak and James Sarfaty. Also in attendance were three of the department's 50-year active members: Ed Usher Sr., Robert Licht and James Drumm.

Congratulations to all!

What a great night it must have been. What a roster of great leaders every one of them.
