On Wednesday, June 13th, a call from a resident on Farragut Avenue was received by the Fire Department about a cat in a tree. Usually, the Fire Department does not respond to these kind of calls. However, the members of Ladder 22 had just finished giving a tour of the fire house and equipment to a class of special needs students. Due to the circumstances of the cat and weather, Ladder 22 was called to rescue the cat, Rosie, that was just over 100 feet up in the tree. Members of Ladder 22 positioned the ladder as close as possible and extended the ladder to the maximum height, but Rosie was just out of reach. FF Kevin Usher, backed up by Lt. Chris Dosin, was able to coax the cat to where he was able to grab hold and rescue Rosie. Rosie was returned to the young girl, who was waiting anxiously for her safe return. This was done by the members of your ALL-VOLUNTEER Fire Department.
