Members of Engine 45, along with members of Engine 46, participated in a Vehicle Extrication Drill on June 24th at the DPW Garage. Captain Barry, Lt. Woods and Ex-Captain Bottiglieri reviewed the different tools and resources carried on Rescue 100 and gave hands-on instruction to the members of Engine 46 on how to operate the extrication tools. Using the specialized equipment carried on Rescue 100, they simulated cutting a trapped motorist out of a vehicle. The car used in the demonstration was donated by members Doug & Laura Hill.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department will accept donated vehicles (with the title) that can be used as training props to conduct more extrication training. Please contact Chief John Lindner at jlindner@hastingsgov.org for more information.
