HFD Responds To Truck Off Cliff

On Friday, July 12th, the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department and HFD Ambulance responded to a call for a truck that went off the road into the woods and rolled over. The driver was removed through the front windshield by two Hastings Police Officers and a construction crew. HFD secured the victim on a backboard and Stokes basket from Rescue 100. He was carried to the awaiting ambulance where members of the HFD Ambulance treated the driver with Greenburgh Paramedics and transported him to the hospital. A precautionary hose line was stretched from Engine 46 in case of fire. The removal of the truck took over six hours and required assets and expertise from the Hastings-on-Hudson DPW, HPD, two heavy tow trucks, a tree service company, Con Edison, Verizon & Optimum.
