On Saturday, August 10th, the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department participated in the annual Tarrytown Fire Department Parade. Engines 44 (Protection), Engine 46 (Riverview Manor), Ladder 22 (Hook & Ladder) and 62-B1 (Ambulance 1) participated along with 20 members of the department. The weather was great and there were large crowds. Our band, The Dixie Dandies, were great as always. We were competing against departments from Westchester and Rockland Counties, as well as New Jersey. Our department received two awards - Best Engine over Ten Years for Engine 46 (Riverview Manor) and Best Overall Apparatus for Ladder 22 (Hook & Ladder). Congratulations to all who participated in getting the apparatus ready and those who tuned out to march. Thank you to the crew from Engine 45 (Uniontown) who stood by to cover any emergency calls in the Village.
