On Saturday, September 21st, the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department participated in the 2019 Westchester County Volunteer Firemen's Association Parade in Montrose, New York. The parade is an annual event hosted by different departments every year. The parade is competitive where judges inspect the fire apparatus before the parade and the departments in the line of march. Competition is very tough between all of the departments in the county for trophies and bragging rights. Our department took home four trophies. Engine 45 won best overall apparatus and Ladder 22 won second best ladder. Our members also won trophies for the best color guard and best regulation uniform. The hard work put in by the members of our department getting the apparatus in shape paid off and the members should be proud of their achievements.
