On November 17th the Hastings-on-Hudson FD Ladder 22 responded to a call for mutual aid From Ardsley FD Along With Other Rivertown Fire Departments. Ardsley FD had a shed fire that contained several large capacity propane tanks. Due to high heat from the fire the relief valves let go causing a release of propane that burned for hours until the tanks were empty. Hose lines were used to keep the tanks cool so they did explode. Our department has requested assistance from Ardsley FD on several occasions this year Hastings FD was happy to return the favor.
